Determine if 3C Patch^® will be applied and draw the patient’s blood.

Apply 3C Patch^® and dressings. Select a secondary absorptive dressing to control the level of exudate.

Patient Preparation

Remind the patient to hydrate and avoid excessive caffeinated drinks before the blood draw. Patients on anticoagulants may require longer centrifugation times due to slower coagulation. Therefore, consider scheduling an additional 15 minutes for the first visit to assess the centrifugation time for that respective patient, and plan the next visits accordingly.

Drawing the blood when the patient arrives saves your valuable clinic time as the 3C Patch® is prepared automatically using the 3CP® Centrifuge while the wound bed may be cleaned and debrided, if indicated.

One 18 ml blood sample is sufficient to create a 5 cm2 3C Patch®. If more than one patch is needed, an additional blood sample is required. Two patches can be prepared during a single visit.

Flow optimization additional recommendations

Have a clinical professional with experience in drawing blood start the process as soon as possible.

While the 3C Patch^® Device is in the centrifuge, the regular wound care regime can be performed: clean and measure the wound, take images, wound debridement, dressing preparation, documentation.

Apply the 3C Patch and the primary dressing provided in the 3C Patch^® kit and a secondary dressing deemed appropriate to control the level of exudate. The secondary dressing can be changed as often as necessary.

Instruct the patient about the necessary offloading and compression measures to ensure an optimal effect of the treatment.
